Not all benzoic acid is the same. The grade you specify determines purity, impurity limits, documentation and, ultimately, which applications the material is suitable for. Here is a short guide to the grades MiSa FineChem manufactures.
Pharmacopoeia grades — BP and IP
BP (British Pharmacopoeia) and IP (Indian Pharmacopoeia) grades meet the monograph requirements for pharmaceutical and food use, with tight limits on heavy metals, chlorinated compounds and readily oxidisable substances. They ship with a certificate of analysis and a technical data sheet.
Pure grade
Pure grade offers high assay for demanding food, flavour and personal-care applications where full pharmacopoeia documentation is not required.
Feed, Industrial and Tech grades
Feed grade is produced for animal nutrition and feed preservation. Industrial and Tech grades are designed for alkyd resins, coatings, plasticizers, dyes and intermediates, where cost-effectiveness and consistent performance matter most.
